Maximise the use of your outdoor space

Spend more time with family and freinds enjoying the outdoors regardless of the weather. Ziptrak blinds help you extend the use of your outdoor entertainment areas by capturing warmth during the winter months and allowing fresh breezes to flow through during summer.

Ziptrak creates a barrier from weather, insects, dust, leaves and other debris and reduces the time spent on cleaning and maintenance of your outdoor area and furnishings.

The unique design combination of the Ziptrak blind system with a Streamline Pelmet containing our Insect Control System adds an additional barrier that other outdoor blinds cannot offer.

Effortless smooth operation

Ziptrak® Spring-Balanced technology permits effortless smooth operation. Simply push the blind up or pull the blind down and your Ziptrak® blind will stay where you leave it. You can also lock your blind into place by pushing down into the lowest position and engaging the Ziptrak Centre-Lock-Release mechanism. To unlock, lift the handle to activate the release latches and lift.

Optional motorisation is also available – with remote control instead of manual operation, useful for multiple blind applications or installations in hard to reach locations like outside of windows or heights.

FAQ

Most frequent questions and answers

In windy conditions, Ziptrak® blinds should be left down and locked, or fully retracted – half way is the most vulnerable position. During severe weather events, your blinds should be fully retracted.

You may find Ziptrak® spring-balanced blinds are a little tricky to operate during windy conditions due to the pressure of the wind on the blind material. Use your hand to push against the blind material to reduce this pressure and then operate the blind.

Care must be taken when operating motorized Ziptrak® blinds in windy conditions. They must be supervised whilst raising and lowering at all times.

If the fabric blows out of the channels during windy conditions we are happy to do a service call to fix up but it is not covered by the products warranty and will be chargeable

The bottom bar locks into position with two locks at the bottom left and bottom right in order to keep the blind fully down and secured. If you are outside of the outdoor area and you would like to be able to unlock the blind, a “reverse lock” addition  is available to the centre-lock-release system. This will allow you to operate the centre-lock-release which faces the inside of your entertaining area, although you are on the outside.

These locks are not designed for use as a security measure. The blind system should not be used as barriers for babies or children. The centre-lock-release mechanism is not child proof.

Hose down with clean water a couple of times a year to wash off any dirt or salt residue in particular.

A mesh fabric is used to make these blinds, the rain is very much slowed down but they are not 100% waterproof, particularly if the rain is horizontal.

Classic Blinds & Shutters recommended maximum dimensions for Ziptrak® blinds are 4000mm wide by 3500mm high. Smaller Ziptrak® blinds may look neater, and will be easier to operate.

Yes, but you will need to divide the opening using either a fixed or removable post. The removable post offered by Ziptrak Pty. Ltd., once removed, will not protrude into the opening more than the Ziptrak® blinds

The patented and unique design of the Ziptrak® system is intended to be spring-loaded, which makes the operation of them simpler and easier compared to a crank handle. Therefore, we do not recommend to have Ziptrak® blinds operated with a crank handle.

Yes. Ziptrak Pty. Ltd. offers a fully enclosed aluminium pelmet, offering a rust-free solution perfect for outdoor use. This is available in our standard range of colours, or can be powder-coated to any choice of colour. The pelmet will protect the blind material for increased longevity and provides a more subtle installation appearance.

Only Ziptrak® blinds with Sunscreen Mesh can be motorised, using 240V/AC tubular motor with obstacle detection feature. The SolarSmart™ motor system is also recommended and fully compatible with a Ziptrak® blind. Strong wind can hold the skin of a Ziptrak® blind preventing it from sliding down the tracks, therefore, we recommend that motorised Ziptrak® blinds be supervised by the operator while they are moving.

Flexible PVC used as skin for Ziptrak® blinds becomes stiff in cold weather, this stiffness will prevent the skin to slide down the Ziptrak® tracks as it is maintaining its shape when it was on the top keyway tube. The PVC stiffness is not a problem with a manually operated Ziptrak® blinds, but in a motorised Ziptrak® blind, the weighted bottom rail cannot always overcome the PVC’s stiffness.

We recommend to use 0.75mm thick clear or tinted PVC for Ziptrak® blinds. 1mm thick PVC can be used too, however, there is no advantage using 1mm thick PVC in our opinion, and with larger Ziptrak® blinds it can even be a disadvantage, because of the 1mm thick PVC is heavier.
